Peonies for Mom — And Beyond Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day might be behind us, but peony season is still going strong — and honestly, we’re not ready to let go just yet.

Peonies are second only to roses in popularity, and it’s easy to see why. Their soft fragrance, ruffled petals, and wide range of colors make them a favorite for anyone looking to show love or appreciation. Last week, peonies helped people across the country say thank you — to moms, grandmothers, caretakers, mentors, and friends.

At FabulousFlorals.com, we were lucky to be part of it. With support from our partner farms, we shipped out thousands of peonies — many of them American-grown in California, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, North Carolina and New England and later in the summer from Alaska — just in time to surprise the people you care about. Based on the messages we’ve received, the blooms were a hit: fresh, vibrant, and packed with wow-factor.

The good news? Peony season isn’t over.

Even as local availability winds down in some areas, we continue sourcing from other regions — both in the U.S. and beyond — so you can still buy peonies online and enjoy near year-round access to these beauties.

This is actually one of the best times to enjoy peonies without the stress of a holiday deadline. Whether you’re refreshing your space, planning a DIY wedding, or just treating yourself to a few stems for the kitchen table, it’s the perfect moment to enjoy them on your terms.

They come in soft blush, creamy white, coral, deep magenta, and more. Every color has its charm. Because their peak season is so short, peonies always feel like a little luxury — something to look forward to and savor.

Peony Arranging Tips

To create a balanced and full-looking arrangement:

Start with a clean vase filled about 3/4 full with room temperature water.
Remove any leaves that would fall below the waterline to prevent rot.
Cut each peony stem at a 45-degree angle and place it immediately into the water.
Begin by placing the largest, most open blooms in the center.
Add smaller buds around the center, working in a circular pattern.
Refresh the water daily and recut the stems every other day to extend the life of your arrangement.
