Charity – David Austin Wedding and Event Roses

Charity (Auswasher) Roses are truly unique among all roses in the David Austin Wedding Rose Collection as their lime green stamen is notably on display in the center of each bloom. The visible stamen adds to its charm and makes it a playful rose when designing with a variety of cottage garden seasonal flowers and foliage. Charity’s blooms are romantic soft pink with warm peach overtones.

She offers a sweet violet, musk and vanilla scent, a perfect scent to enhance that feel of a fresh from the garden floral arrangement.

Watch the above video featuring glorious English garden roses and floral designs. It also includes the following care and handling tips.

Rehydration

  1. Unpack your roses as soon as possible.
  2. Keep the packaging in place, to support the stems during hydration.
  3. Cut about 1" or 3cm from the base of each stem.
  4. Place the stems in water with flower food to aid hydration, improve opening and increase vase life.
  5. Rehydrate stems for 4-6 hours in the coolest place possible, ideally between 4° to 6°C / 39° to 43°F. If your roses arrive late in the day, leave in water overnight to give them the hydration period.

Opening

  1. After hydration, remove all packaging. Space the stems in the buckets of water to make room for the blooms to open. Retain guard petals as they will disappear as the bloom opens.
  2. Place the stems in ambient room temperature to
    encourage opening.
  3. Opening will take between 2 and 4 days. Once opened, place back in your cool area until you are ready to work with them.
